Jessica and Chris’s Wedding

Jessica and Chris wed last July in a lovely barnyard-chic ceremony. The couple met at the Red Cross in Seattle while both were working. Work and school took them to the East Coast, but the couple wanted a wedding closer to home. Their venue, Swan’s Trail Farms in Snohomish, WA, had a quaint little stream, sprawling grounds and was surrounded by picturesque views of neighboring mountain ranges.

As you’ll see in the photos below, many of the smaller details made a big impression. In remembrance of those not in attendance, a sprig of Rosemary was set upon each napkin. The chalkboard menus were beautifully decorated by a local calligrapher. The mint-colored classic truck on site added a fun and vintage element – it also complimented the color scheme so well!

The happy couple made certain to have fresh, local and seasonal products to be used. They wanted the best for their guests and this was an easy request to fulfill in the Pacific Northwest. The color palette for the bouquets and floral arrangements were handpicked and then specially grown by a local vendor. Similar steps were taken for the food. The couple and guests dined family-style on the freshest of the season. The shared meal was a lovely way for everyone to connect and converse. After dinner the dance floor was lively! People were moving and grooving under the Italian lights.

Take a look through the photos below and you’ll see the beautiful wedding for this sweet couple!

Dana & Kris’s Wedding

Written by stephanie | Northwest Wedding, Pacific Northwest, Spring, Weddings

This is an extra special post for us at Solomon Event Planning! We always enjoy featuring the weddings we coordinate, but this bride and groom are close to our hearts. Dana and Stephanie (founder of SEP) have built a strong and everlasting partnership over the last 8 years. Dana has worked hard to help bring client’s event dreams to reality. After helping so many brides tie the knot, we were touched to see Dana follow suit. We couldn’t be happier for her! She and Kris were made for each other!

Family and friends mean the most to this couple and you could see that in every detail. From the exclusive guest list to the cake topper, the evening affair was personal.  Dana’s father wore tokens of those in remembrance; his father’s cufflinks and a gold button from his mother’s wedding dress. The mini bride and groom standing atop the cake was nothing short of amazing – a vintage cake topper from her grandmother and grandfather’s wedding in 1947. Even Millie, the couple’s adorable dog, attended the affair.

Some couples have to admit that the groom doesn’t have much responsibility during wedding planning, but for Dana and Kris this wasn’t the case. The groom’s passion and career revolve around wine. He worked exceptionally hard searching out the perfect bottles of wine and champagne to complement the incredible menu. The couple worked with Mauro, Assaggio’s head chef, to create a totally unique 5-course menu, complete with their favorite dishes and desserts.

Dana and Kris wanted to create an intimate space in the restaurant so SEP set up draping that helped to transform the open area.  Dana chose a buttery yellow, soft whites and hints of blush that went exceptionally well with the refined style of the venue. The flooring and rich colored wood made the color scheme pop. As far as decorations went, we brought in mixed metals and mercury glass to add a touch of elegance. In the photos below you’ll see how gorgeous the decor and tablescapes turned out.

Speaking of gorgeous, how stunning was Dana in her blush colored dress?! She was picture perfect wearing her Monique Lhuillier dress and Badgley Mischka heels. Pictures do not do her or the wedding justice. Congratulations, Dana and Kris!

We are forever grateful for the generous contributions and hard work of the following contributors: Assaggio’s Ristorante, Rev. Mary Calhoun, Austin Beaver Productions, Stephanie Cristalli, New Renaissance Cakes, Dante’s Hot Dogs, Choice Linens, Tiara’s On Location, Phototainment, Kelligraphy, Silberman Brown Stationers, Rachel Brandzel Creative, Diving Designs Bridal Boutique, Hotel Andra, Grand Event Rentals, and Pedersen’s Rentals. Dana’s day would not have been the same without you all!

Lucy & Elliott’s Wedding

It’s hard to put into words a celebration as magical as this one! Lucy and Elliott’s wedding took place last August on Bainbridge Island. Her family had the perfect location for a summer wedding on the water. Friends and family opened their homes to the weekend celebration and all of the guests were able to stay on the island. Many personal touches helped make this wedding extra special. White paper parasols helped shade the ladies from the sun, hand painted signs directed guests along the grounds, and Billie J, their dog, was a very important part of the wedding. She even joined them at the altar 🙂

Guests mingled during a cocktail hour to the tunes of The Blackberry Bushes, a Northwest string band. This was the perfect musical back drop for the rustic yet romantic wedding. We really loved the mix of burlap and wood elements with the soft color palette. The bridesmaids wore the beautiful blush color that was also adorned in Lucy’s bouquet and floral arrangements. How stunning do they look next to the groomsmen in their cream suits and mint-colored ties? The whole feel of the wedding exuded Lucy and Elliott’s polished and laid-back style.

Megan’s Bat Mitzvah

Megan’s Mitzvah was super fun and sassy! We decorated with her favorite color, purple and added some flare with zebra-print details. From the floral arrangements to the swag bags, we created a look that showed off this dancer’s fun personality. This also helped to liven up the classic Skansonia ferry boat where guests watched the sun set over Seattle’s timeless skyline.

Guests enjoyed tasty food and a custom Purple Sparkler mocktail. For dessert there was a frozen yogurt bar with all the toppings you could imagine. Guests rocked the night away with an awesome  DJ and party lights. If they weren’t on the dance floor then they were striking a pose in the photo booth. That was a big hit with the green screen background – the fun was endless!
